High End Beauty Haul + First Impressions

04:01:00

This post is definitely quite overdue seeing as I got these items at Christmas time but there is a good reason! I tried to film a youtube video on this haul but when I was editing all the footage I just came across soo awkward. Way too awkward for anyones eyes haha. Will try again at the whole YouTube thing another time but for now I will do a blog post on this haul instead.

My family had the easiest job buying me presents - i'm not fussy and am addicted to make-up. Therefore, everything I got I was over the moon with.

Kylie Lip Kits in Koko K and Candy K
I actually bought these for myself in a real YOLO moment. I was in Japan with a huge mug of hot chocolate scrolling through instagram when Kylie instagrammed that you got a free 'Merry' lipkit with any lipkit purchase. HELLZ YEAH. (I actually forgot to include a picture of Merry, oops). Anyway these were the two I chose because I am a big fan of neutral everyday shades. Since getting them I have worn them every. single. day. I have been so impressed with the longevity of the lipsticks and even more impressed with how comfortable they are on the lips. I will do a review comparing these to the Colourpop ones.

Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer & Translucent Powder
Massive shout of to the tinted moisturizer. When I went to Japan I brought my hourglass foundation which was just a tad too drying in the brisk winter weather. My skin had crazy breakouts and looked drab. So my mum purchased the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer on a whim and it was one of the best decisions we made. It's soo hydrating, glowy, and just makes you look healthy!! Seriously I haven't worn anything else for the past month - it's THAT good. So my mum purchased another one for my christmas present.

Also for Christmas I got the translucent powder. I'm pretty sure 95% of all beauty bloggers own this so i'm quite late to the party..but I got there in the end. So far this product has been really good to me - it sets my make-up nicely without going cakey which is exactly what I was after.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
After a few hints here and there my brothers were my heroes when they bought this for me at Christmas. I am so in love with this palette and already I think it may be my all time favourite. I just love the range of shades and how many different looks you can get out of it. I would recommend this to anyone, it definitely lives up to the hype.

Too Faced Gingerbread Palette (limited edition)
This was one of the presents my sister got me for Christmas and I looove it. Usually I get quite scared traveling with my proper palettes as I worry i'll break them so this is the perfect palette for me as it's small enough to fit in your make-up bag but still includes a bronzer and eyeshadow shades which could work for both day and night. Plus..it smells like gingerbread. V v nice.

Won't be needing to buy make-up for a long time while I have fun playing with these gems. What did you guys get for Christmas - any make-up/beauty stuff? Let me know, I always read my comments and love replying to people ^.^

  1. Great picks! I've been really curious about those lip kits, but a lot of people seem to love it so I might give it a try. Do you know if they're cruelty-free or not? The gingerbread colors are beautiful too! :)
