Review: Le Tan Coconut Water Self Tanning Foam

19:06:00

I've just started using this fake tan and thought i'd give a quick review of it on here for anyone who is also into the fake tanning world :)

The other week I went into my local Priceline to restock on my beloved Le Tan Instant Tanning Mousse (featured here in this blog post from last year). Sadly it was all sold out but Le Tan was half price and I did not want to walk away empty handed. I perused their products and then this one caught my eye - it was probably the pretty packaging and the fact it said "coconut water". I freaking love coconuts. I also liked that it said it's a green based tan which means you turn a slightly more olive shade. I decided to YOLO it (do people still say that?) and buy it to try out.

Price: $19.99 but I got it for $10!

How does it apply?: Pretty easily with my tanning mitt. Unlike my other fake tans that go on light and develop later on this goes on dark straight away. Warning - this mousse looks super patchy. The first time I tried it out I started freaking out because it looked soo patchy all over and was scared it would stay like that. My mum was telling me "wash it off otherwise it may look awful" but I was hell bent on becoming tan so I just prayed that the patchiness would wash off later and my skin would be even. It just looks like someones thrown dirt on you. It dries pretty quickly. Oh and doesn't smell of fake tan.

How long to leave it on?: It says don't shower for 1 hour for a deep tan, 2 hours for a dark tan, and 3+ hours for a darker tan. Once you've washed it off it says it develops for a further 4-6 hours. I left it on for 2 hours and it gave me a nice natural colour. In the future i'd probably be tempted to leave it on for 3 cause it doesn't go super dark.

Overall thoughts: I liiike it! A lot actually! It gives such a nice natural looking colour. I prefer being a more olive than bronze, olive is a bit more natural for my skin tone. I will definitely use this again. I'd rate it 4.5/5.

What fake tans do you use?

  1. Now that summer is approaching I feel like I need to get my hands on a good fake tan! I use the gradual tanner by Garnier, it is great for a gradual built up tan x
