What I'm Loving At The Moment/ Beauty & Non-Beauty

21:01:00

I've realized..I haven't done a "favourites" type post since January. JANUARY.

But this was kinda intentional. Instead of doing a favourites every month trying to find things to mention I decided to only do one when I was like "THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THESE PRODUCTS".

And beauty-wise i've been kinda lazy. I've found a bunch of products I like and stuck with them. Recently I have tried to mix it up which means i've discovered some gems, so here I am sharing them with you. ALSO in my lip swatch photos down below my face looks suuuper pale compared to my neck cause at the time I had just applied a fake tan, believe me it doesn't look this bad now aha.

1. BARE MINERALS COMPLEXION RESCUE TINTED HYDRATING GEL CREAM
Now I mentioned this in my long-lasting work makeup post (here) and it's getting the re-mention cause it's just so damn good. This has been so nice to my skin, I wear it on days when I work and days when I don't work. It's a low coverage base but it's great cause 1) never cakes up 2) always looks natural and you can't go overboard, and 3) is good for your skin!! If I had to recommend my friends a natural looking base I would say this one 100%. If you are a fan of the fuller coverage bases then this may not be for you, but if you like something easy to whack on and looks luminous then this is your best friend.

2. MAYBELLINE MASTER PRECISE LIQUID LINER
I have stayed faithful to my Soap & Glory Supercat Liner FOR YEARS but when I saw this half price at coles I thought "why not!". I am sooo glad I did! Already this may have become my favourite liner ever (sorry S&G!). It's really easy to use, has a fine little tip which is great for achieving a sharp wing, and stays on alllll day. Like this doesn't smudge at all!! If you are new to the world of winged liner then this would be my pick.

3. BARE MINERALS GEN NUDE MATTE LIQUID LIPCOLOUR IN "SLAY"
I wear this most days as it's such a flattering pink shade and doesn't feel all crusty like other matte liquid lipsticks. I'm kinda getting over the whole ultra matte lip trend as i've realized it makes my lips look like they're sooo dry. And dry lips aren't very attractive, having plump moisturized lips are. This is matte but doesn't dry down completely and stays relatively comfortable - it's a moussey texture. Would definitely buy more from this matte lipstick range.

4. URBAN DECAY COMFORT MATTE VICE LIPSTICK IN "BACKTALK"
When I purchased this lipstick I realized it wasn't filling any gaps in my lipstick collection...I already own a thousand shades similar to this...but...I have a type dammit. I'm glad I bought this because it's such an easy-to-wear kind of product which great staying power. It's matte but doesn't feel too drying, usually I put a balm on beforehand just to prep my lips.

5. NYX BUTTER GLOSS IN "CREME BRULEE"
For days when i'm rushing out the door i've been grabbing this. It's just a nice simple pink lipgloss which completes any look nicely. Bonus points for it not being incredible sticky and leaving a graveyard of hairs attached to it (we all remember those Lancome Juicy Tube days..amiright?!).

6. NARS VELVET LIP GLIDE IN "LE PALACE"
I got this little sample in my Mecca beauty box - you can imagine my beaming face realizing I had gotten a nars product. In the photo above I just applied this as it is, just to show how incredibly pigmented it is. Usually I will apply my MAC Cherry Lipliner under just to form a nice shape and then I put this on top. By putting a lipliner under it means when this fades it won't look noticable cause there's already something under. It's really comfortable to wear and is a true hybrid of a gloss and lipstick. Will be buying the full product for sure! Also it kinda has Cheryl Blossom from Riverdale vibes doesn't it?

Onto the non-beauty favourites...

7. THE FEMALE STRUGGLE IS REAL PODCAST
So I recently joined a gym and quickly realized how boring cardio is. I had listened to some podcasts in the past so I decided to download a few to make the time go quicker. I downloaded this one and it's MY FAVE. It's done by Emma Jo Real-Davies and she sounds like the loveliest person, she's a UK blogger. There are only four episodes so far: one on bodies, online dating, acne, female check ups. They're all so good and have made the time go incredibly fast. I've been suggesting it to all my friends. You can get them on the podcast app store.

8. VIX MELDREW'S BLOG
I've been a diehard Vix Meldrew fan for a few months now so it's only appropriate I mention her here. This is probably one of the only blogs where I actively check it every few days, I even subscribed to get a notification to my phone when there's a new post. Vix is a dating blogger who is just sooo real. There is no filter which I LOVE. She talks about her tinder stories, what it is to be "ghosted", self-confidence..it's just the realities of dating in the 21st Century. Even though a lot isn't applicable to me as I don't online date etc..it's still just entertaining to read.  Here are some of my favourite posts:
9. ASGEIRS NEW ALBUM "AFTERGLOW"
I'm a huuuuuge fan of Asgeir. His first album was the soundtrack to my 2014 trip to Europe. Since then I have eagerly anticipated when he would bring out new music and he hasn't disappointed. This album is a dream from start to finish. It's similar to his old sound but slightly more evolved. I'm just obsessed and have listened to it over and over and over. Favourite song on it is "New Day" as it's just soo pretty.
10. THE OFFICE (UK)
I am obsessed with this show yet again. I've seen it multiple times and i've just re-watched it for the thousandth time. I think it's the kind of show you either love or hate, so i'm a bit wary on recommending it to certain friends, but if you like dry humour and a bunch of cringe then I think you'll like it.

Wowzers that was quite a lot of favourites.

Let me know what you've been loving lately!

Holly xx
