Reviewing the Revlon Sculpt + Highlight Contour Kit

A few weeks ago I went into the drugstore with a mission: to buy this contour kit. After seeing multiple good reviews on the blogs/youtube I decided I needed to give it a try. I waited until a drugstore was having a sale so I got this for half price, woo!

This contour kit was co-developed with the well-known youtuber Chloe Morello (she's fab, love her videos). This is the video where she announces it and shows how it's used.

Before contour
After contour
With contour, bronzer, and highlight. (I don't like to wear much, only subtle)
Price: $24.95

Shade range: It comes in light/medium and medium/dark. I got the light/medium one of course haha.

Packaging: Simple and sleek. I like that it's quite compact and not bulky. Doesn't feel like it'd be easy to break either. Includes a big mirror too!

Pigmentation/texture: These powders feel nice and smooth. They're not as velvety as the Hourglass powders but they don't feel chalky either. They aren't strongly pigmented but they are easy to build up - to be honest I prefer a contour which isn't too pigmented as I like to slowly build it up so I don't go overboard.

Longevity: I've worn this only a few times for a whole day but I think they last well. It slightly fades but doesn't go awkwardly patchy. I'd happily wear this to work on my 10 hour long days and be quite confident it would last.

Overall thoughts: I'm a very happy chap with this contour kit. The contour is a perfect ash grey/brown contour which isn't too warm or cooled toned. The bronzer is great for warming up the skin. The highlighter is also lovely - it isn't my favourite I but it still is something I can see myself wearing often. In all honesty I don't use the banana powder under my eyes as I find it makes my under-eyes look dry. Personally i'm not a big fan of banana powders but that could be just me!

This kit is excellent as it's easy to use and great for contouring beginners as it can be built up slowly. It's affordable and gives a lovely finish. Can't rave on about this enough, it's something I would recommend to all my friends who want to get into contouring.

  1. These look great! I didn't know this brand but I want to try this one! XX

  2. This looks amazing! I don't usually do a lot of contouring simply because I am very bad at it, but this seems like a palette that doesn't have too much pigment in it so it must be easier to blend! Great post.
