My Favourite Three Drugstore Foundations

00:09:00

Would you guys believe I used to be someone who thought that all drugstore makeup was nasty and cheap?

Well, I did unfortunately. Growing up I always borrowed my mums expensive makeup. When I got to the age where I bought my own makeup (which I only started buying because mum didn't let me wear makeup to school so I was naughty and would bring my own) I got the cheapest of cheap makeup. The foundation I bought was terrible. I was 14 and didn't know much about makeup so the foundation I got was 4 shades too dark for me and it was super cakey. After realizing how bad it was I just stopped buying drugstore makeup and went back to borrowing my mums.

Flash forward to now and I have a huge mix of drugstore and high end makeup. I've since been brave enough to buy drugstore makeup and there are soo many products I love and recommend. Today i'm going to share with you my favourite three drugstore foundations of all time.

1. Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

This foundation is medium coverage and just blends beautifully into my skin. It doesn't feel heavy on my skin either. This would be perfect for all skin types as it has a subtle dewy finish but nothing too shiny for oily skin. Usually I just apply this with my real techniques buffing brush. It doesn't last all day and fades around the 6 hour mark but it never has gotten awkwardly patchy. This is one I usually put on for when i'm going out to breakfast or having a day running errands. It's a great everyday one.

2. Boisjour Healthy Mix Serum Foundation

I'd say this foundation is the perfect dupe for Nars Sheer Glow. Nars is my favourite base ever but because it's high end it's a lot pricier. This is what i've been wearing instead when I want the same effect as Sheer Glow but I don't want to wear an expensive base everyday. It's very luminous/glowy, makes my skin look fresh, medium coverage, and blends in so easy. This is what I wear to work most days and occasions where I want my skin to look radiant. I really love this, so much so I convinced my sister to buy it too!

3. Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation

Now, who actually wears foundation for 25 hours?! It's a big claim and an easy claim to make because no one in their right mind would test out this theory, unless..you don't like sleeping. Anyway this foundation is high coverage and has a semi-matte finish but doesn't look dull. It was actually used in a recent Lisa Eldridge video and if she uses it..then it must be great. She's my all time favourite makeup artist. I wear this when I want to go for a full coverage makeup look, usually for night time. It's a little thick in formula so I blend it out with a beauty blender. I just love how it makes my skin look so flawless without going cakey. If you want a full coverage base then this is it, it's a really good product! If you have dry skin i'd recommend just wearing a hydrating primer underneath. Other than that..it's fantastic and perfect for nights out.

Let me know your favourite drugstore bases!
