My Full Glam Makeup Look ♡

02:08:00

The other night I got a little bored so I started playing around with makeup. I'm usually not someone to go for a full glam look as I find it can look quite heavy on me. I went for it anyway and came up with this look which is really neutral and could go with any type of outfit. It's still full coverage but doesn't look cakey. I liked it so much I ended up re-creating it for my friends engagement party the next night! From now on this will be my go-to makeup for when I have any events.

For the base..
I went with the Estee Lauder illuminator primer to give my skin a subtle glow prior to applying my Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in 200 Soft Beige. This foundation is great as it's a medium coverage but you can build it up to being full coverage. I then went in with the Maybelline FitMe concealer in Vanilla, I applied this under my eyes and on my nose. For my contouring I used the NYX Wonderstick and blended it out with my real techniques expert face brush. I contoured my cheekbones all chiseled (well, as chiseled as I could with my round face haha) and contoured my nose. This was the first time I properly tried out this contour stick and I LOVED it, would definitely recommend it.

To go over my contour I used my Nars Laguna bronzer. To then bronze up my face I used the Too Faced sweethearts bronzer in "Carrie & Big".This Too Faced bronzer is great cause it's quite subtle and you can't go too overboard with it. For highlighter I used Colourpops Wisp which gives a gorgeous gold based sheen. I used this highlighter on my cheekbones, nose, and cupids bow.

For the eyes..
I started off by applying tape from the outer corner of my eyes to the end of my brow, so I could make a sharp edge and do a slight wing but eyeshadow. I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette.

I went in with salted caramel on a blending brush and buffed this all out over my lid. Then on a smaller blending brush I added milk chocolate to my crease focusing it on the outer corner of my eyes. Then I took semi-sweet and on an even smaller blending brush and applied this to the outer corner of my eyes slightly bringing it in to the middle part of my crease. On a flat brush I took that gorgeous gold shade creme brulee and patted that all over my lid. Then to make the slight wing effect I took the darkest shade triple fudge on an angled brush and dragged it along the tapes edge bringing it to meet the outer corner of my eye. Then on that big blending brush I buffed in salted caramel again just to make all the colours blend together. To finish it off I added marzipan into the inner corner of my eyes.

Finishing off the look...
I added lashings of the lash sensational mascara by Maybelline to my upper and lower lashes. For my brows I just swept through the Ardell 1000 hour brow gel (it was my first time trying this, wasn't a huge fan to be honest).

For my lips I used the Essence lipliner in satin mauve to shape the outside of my lips. For my lip colour I used the Stila Stay-All-Day liquid lipstick in Perla.

I'm very happy with how this look turned out and I definitely think i'll be doing this makeup on every occasion. I just love a good subtle smokey eye with a pretty pink lipstick.

  1. That looks nice Holly! I'm not a huge fan of heavy make-up looks as I reckon it'd be stifling on my skin (that + I'm more of a natural look gal anyway, despite my love of a bright lipstick), but yours looks good without being OTT.
